- ➤ Stafford County Public Schools requested $18.6 million in local funding at a Feb. 26 meeting — the funds will support plans for three new schools and enhanced staff pay amid low state support and proposed homeowner tax hikes. Potomac Local News

- ➤ Data from the Weldon Cooper Center shows that the Fredericksburg area's population increased nearly 30,000 since 2020, with Planning District 16, which includes Caroline County — the fourth-fastest-growing county in the state — leading the change. Fredericksburg Free Press
- ➤ Columbia Gas customers can apply for energy assistance through Virginia’s Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program before March 16. Stephannie Benson noted the crisis grant may help with heating emergencies (including equipment repairs and past-due bills) and applications are available online, by phone, or from local social services.
