- ➤ The Community Connections Expo will take place on March 18 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Fredericksburg Convention Center and will offer free haircuts, health screenings, clothing distribution, and food access to local families and those in need — hosted by FAHASS with the Regional Continuum of Care — the event builds on last year’s support of 622 families with 60 vendors. - ➤ Jesus Christ Superstar opened on March 13th at the Riverside Center for the Performing Arts and will run through April 27th. The rock opera stars Anthony Nuccio as Judas and Kylie Ernest as Mary Magdalene — the show features non-stop rock music and high-energy performances that bring classic storytelling to life. - ➤ VDOT announced scheduled road work in the Fredericksburg District for March 16-22, 2025—work will be weather permitted. Mobile lane closures on Interstate 95 from Exit 104 to Exit 148 run Monday to Friday from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m.—motorists are advised to check 511Virginia for real-time traffic updates. - ➤ Stacey Carroll announced her candidacy for Virginia’s 64th House District and will run against Paul Milde. She is a National Guard non-commissioned officer with 19 years of service, a certified public accountant who has fostered 22 children—earning strong endorsements from local leaders. - ➤ Del. Scott Wyatt from Mechanicsville introduced House Bill 1799 to lower the disclosure requirement for Virginia Lottery winners and protect personal details for prizes of $1 million or more + the bill passed the House unanimously and now awaits the governor's review. Fredericksburg Free Press
- ➤ On March 11, Fredericksburg City Manager Tim Baroody presented a $136.75 million FY26 budget plan to strengthen public schools + upgrade infrastructure by building a new middle school, fire station, and water system while raising the real estate tax from $0.77 to $0.80 per $100 of value.
