  • United Way is expanding its Ride United program to offer 750 free Lyft rides for health care appointments, and local groups have set a busy schedule with free webinars on health topics starting April 1, a family karaoke event on March 29, an Arbor Day celebration at Maury Park on April 10, Bark in the Park nights at FredNats Stadium beginning April 9, walk-and-talk sessions at Cossey Park Arboretum, a Spring Fever 5K run on April 5, a Food for All 5K on April 12, a TV segment on King George farming and a volunteer Park Day at Payne’s Farm on April 26—each event aims to help residents get involved in community life.  The Free Lance–Star

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Today, Monday, March 24, 2025, the Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania National Military Park begins repaving the Chatham parking lot and repairing road surfaces—Chatham will be closed to vehicles for about two weeks. Starting April 21, all park roads except Lee Drive will be rehabilitated with paving work that will keep some sections unsuitable for bicyclists for at least three months.  Fredericksburg Free Press
