  • 7 Brew drive-through coffee shop is planned at Jarrell Properties’ Cowan Station project on east side of U.S. 1 (1740 Olde William St) to bring the popular chain to Fredericksburg; a 510 sqft building with two drive-through lanes will be developed in a former mobile-home park area.  Fredericksburg Free Press

EDUCATION NEWS

  • At UMW last month, inaugural AI Expert-in-Residence Sean O'Brien (leader at Internet2) spoke to students, faculty and community members about fast-growing AI, its benefits and risks, and the need for human skills alongside technology. The talk was sponsored by the Center for AI and the Liberal Arts.  University of Mary Washington

  • Childhood friends Bates and Randall of UMW have built strong on-court chemistry and will aim for a national title as they play Emory University on Sunday at 4:30 p.m. Their bond began in fifth grade at T. Clay Wood Elementary and continues to drive their success.  Fredericksburg Free Press
