- ➤ On Tuesday, April 8 at 5:30 p.m., a resident in the Olde Greenwich Circle neighborhood returned fire in self-defense after hearing rapid gunfire outside his home near Fredericksburg, striking one suspect in a shooting that left three young men dead and led to charges against four others. - ➤ Stafford County’s schools were praised for strong education as Superintendent Daniel Smith noted on Tuesday that they are doing well but need work in areas like staff development and preparing students for college, military service or careers—he gathered input from 34 schools and over 450 stakeholders to guide improvements. School Board member Alyssa Halstead defended her strong remarks on boosting education funding by saying she would not apologize despite warnings and left the meeting before it ended.
