- ➤ The Planning District 16 Juneteenth celebration is set for June 6 at North Stafford High School and will feature a 2 p.m. job fair by Kalahari Resorts and Conventions, food trucks, vendors, a Mr. and Ms. Juneteenth pageant, and free admission. Fredericksburg Free Press
- ➤ Registration is filling up fast for the Great Train Race on May 3, which features three races for young runners in Fredericksburg & organizers say families should sign up soon as volunteers are still needed. Fredericksburg Free Press
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Highlights in regional business: Kalahari Resorts will launch its waterpark and convention center on Nov. 12. On Friday, a caravan will bring hand-crafted animal sculptures (the Safari Migration) to the Spotsylvania resort off U.S. 1 (local openings include The Chunky Cup at Eagle Village). - ➤ At a work session on April 14, School Board Chair Katie Pomeroy said the FY2027 operating budget is the bare minimum needed to run the schools, while a free concert, A Celebration of Freedom, is scheduled for May 2 at 7:30 p.m. and May 3 at 3:30 p.m. locally. Potomac Local News
