- ➤ Del. Joshua Cole hosted a Women’s Black History Month tea in Fredericksburg on Sunday where Del. Destiny LeVere Bolling, a new mother and legislator, described working from her hospital bed to cast important votes — balancing recovery and duty. - ➤ Seven UMW students earned top national honors on the National Latin Exam, receiving awards from Cum Laude to Gold Summa Cum Laude. - ➤ The Fredericksburg Office of Voter Registration and Elections announced its first I Voted Sticker Design Contest, inviting artists, students, and community members in the 22401 area to submit designs for 'I Voted,' 'First Time Voter,' and 'Future Voter' stickers—entries can be submitted online, by fax, mail, or dropped off at FXBG City Center until 4:30 p.m. on June 20—to boost local voter involvement. - ➤ On April 28, the George Washington Regional Commission met at 6 p.m. to discuss a regional economic development strategy for Fredericksburg and the Spotsylvania County school board held a work session at 5:30 p.m. to review a budget amendment and surplus allocation — today the Stafford County board and school board chairs and vice chairs are hosting a joint town hall meeting at Colonial Forge High School to invite local input on infrastructure, transportation, budget and economic development.
