- ➤ Fredericksburg Police officers are preparing to join Law Enforcement United riders from Chesapeake to DC in honor of fallen officers — they are asking for donations of water, power drinks and snacks. - ➤ More than 200 drivers at Genesis Logistics in Stafford County voted over 90% in favor of joining Teamsters Local 322 and will soon begin contract talks—union officials claim the company held anti-union meetings and disciplined supporters during the drive. - ➤ Lori Williams of Spotsylvania competes in round five of the Favorite Chef competition and is currently in second place in her group. She must finish first by voting ending Thursday at 11 p.m.—if she wins the $25,000 prize she will use it to expand a take-home food program for schools. Fredericksburg Free Press
- ➤ The City of Fredericksburg and the National Park Service buried remains of Civil War soldiers on May 2nd in the Fredericksburg National Cemetery—remains found in a 2015 excavation on Sophia Street are believed to have been from a December 1862 battle. City of Fredericksburg

- ➤ VDOT will hold a public meeting on May 15 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Germanna Community College’s Workforce and Technology Center at 10000 Germanna Point Drive, Fredericksburg to review an environmental assessment for the proposed Germanna Point Drive Extension in Spotsylvania County.
