  • Fredericksburg letter carrier Shaun Armstrong is urging residents to drop off non-perishable food for the annual Stamp Out Hunger drive taking place tomorrow, May 9th — items will be collected by postal workers for delivery to the Regional Food Bank.  Fredericksburg Free Press
  • Residents gathered at midday on Thursday at Shannon Airport in Spotsylvanka to mark the National Day of Prayer, where they prayed for the nation, local leaders & families. Similar prayer gatherings took place around the area.  Fredericksburg Free Press

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Dominion Energy plans a 3-gigawatt natural gas plant on 900 acres in Cumberland County. The company seeks permits for construction to begin in 2029 and says the facility will create 450 jobs and bring $500 million in local tax revenue when online around 2033 or 2034.  Fredericksburg Free Press
