- ➤ At University of Mary Washington’s commencement, seven graduates earned a perfect 4.0 and received the Colgate W. Darden Jr. Award for Academic Achievement—marking the highest number of top-of-class honors in recent history as they graduated summa cum laude. University of Mary Washington
- ➤ The University of Mary Washington held its 114th commencement on May 10 with over 900 graduates receiving degrees in a three-hour ceremony filled with speeches, awards, and confetti under clear blue skies. - ➤ At its end-of-semester meeting, the University of Mary Washington Board of Visitors recognized faculty and a retiring administrator by giving Professor Grant Woodwell the Faculty Leadership Award & naming Assistant Vice President Jan Clarke as administrator emeritus. - ➤ Erica Hernandez—Ramirez, a medical assistant at Moss Free Clinic, and Vicki Walker, a long-time patient fighting advanced cancer, have built a close bond over shared struggles with health care and financial hardship. Walker, who lost her husband in October and faced job loss after her diagnosis, said the clinic’s care is vital and urged neighbors to support its Giving Day on May 15 to expand services.
