- ➤ Since Thursday, May 14, Virginia has been under drought watch and warning advisories — dry conditions threaten crops and increase wildfire risks statewide. The Free Lance–Star
- ➤ Gov. Spanberger will decide by May 23 whether to sign House Bill 1011, which would let localities require organic waste diversion from large waste generators to reduce landfill methane pollution — a measure aimed at lowering greenhouse gas emissions.
