  • Dominion Energy and NextEra plan a merger to form the world’s largest electric utility serving 10 million accounts across four states. Dominion customers will get $2.25 billion in bill credits over two years (with the deal expected to close in 12 to 18 months pending approvals).  Potomac Local News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Spotsylvania School Board asked supervisors to place a $237.2M bond referendum on the fall ballot for school improvement projects and maintenance. Supervisors will vote on the resolution on May 26 — if approved, public sessions begin in July and early voting starts Sept. 19.  Fredericksburg Free Press
  • UMW will launch a new five-week online course called World on a Plate: A Journey Through Global Cuisines on June 22, which will offer lectures, readings & live cooking demos for students and community members.
