ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Virginia State Police investigated a three-vehicle crash on northbound I-95 near the Rappahannock River Bridge on May 17 at 8:25 p.m. — a speeding Mazda collided with a Hyundai and another vehicle near Fredericksburg, ejecting its driver and passenger who were taken to Mary Washington Hospital while other occupants received minor injuries. - ➤ Tug Coker, a Stafford High graduate and Broadway actor, leads 'To Kill A Mockingbird' at Riverside Center for the Performing Arts, reconnecting with locals and former teachers in Fredericksburg—an experience that brings his hometown memories to life. - ➤ FAMPO is studying a new road crossing over the Rappahannock River west of I-95 with ideas from a consultant, staff, and a former supervisor. The committee will vote on a preferred route on June 16 and if approved, the crossing will cost over $200 million and will not be built for at least 10 years — plans may change as engineering and funding details are finalized. - ➤ The National Park Service announced updated summer hours for Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania National Military Park, where the summer interpretive program runs June 9—Aug. 3. Visitor centers and historic sites will have set hours, guided tours and self-guided audio tours daily from sunrise to sunset—giving visitors many ways to explore the park. Fredericksburg Free Press
