ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A crash involving a tractor-trailer and another vehicle on I-95 south near Ladysmith closed two of three southbound lanes in Caroline County (about two miles south of Exit 110) and caused traffic to back up for at least five miles as officials adjust Route 1 signal timing.  Potomac Local News

  • Joshua Chamberlain said he felt deeply upset after officials decided not to charge an FBI agent for the fatal shooting of his father Harold Chamberlain Jr.—who died during an altercation on Feb. 28 in a southern Stafford neighborhood.  The Free Lance–Star

CULTURE NEWS

  • On Saturday morning, scout troops with their leaders and parents placed 15,300 bags and candles at Fredericksburg National Cemetery for the 30th annual luminaria, which honors soldiers buried there. Taps was played every 30 minutes from 8 to 11 (military park staff answered questions and shared stories).  Fredericksburg Free Press
