- ➤ Micah churches are opening rotating indoor cooling spaces for neighbors experiencing homelessness due to the forecasted extreme heat this week. The spaces operate on a set schedule (Monday at St George’s Episcopal Church at 905 Princess Anne, Tuesday at Common Ground Church at 1501 Washington, Wednesday at Fredericksburg United Methodist Church at 308 Hanover, and Thursday at Fredericksburg Baptist Church at 1016 Caroline) and offer bottled water and light snacks but no overnight shelter. - ➤ At a Teacher Appreciation Breakfast on June 18 at the Fredericksburg Convention Center, the Chamber presented 27 awards in eight categories to honor educators from Fredericksburg, Stafford, King George, Spotsylvania and Caroline counties—highlighting dedication and innovation in teaching.
