- ➤ Virginia State Police issued a Senior Alert on Friday night for 78-year-old James Leslie Manning with cognitive impairment who was last seen traveling on Snow Meadow Lane in Stafford County. Authorities believe he may be driving a blue 2011 Honda Accord and ask anyone with information to call the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office (540-658-4400). Potomac Local News

- ➤ New state laws will take effect Tuesday, July 1, and they cover rules from insurance repair coverage, help for incarcerated veterans, and shorter voter registration periods. The set also makes back seat belt use mandatory for adults, raises towing fees, adds tougher penalties for not stopping for pedestrians and for battery on sports referees, and creates new crimes for mail theft and unauthorized hate symbols — changes that will impact everyday life for many Virginians. - ➤ Colonial Forge High School boys 400 meter relay team won a national championship at the New Balance Nationals Outdoor meet in Philadelphia last Sunday by finishing in 40.69 seconds and beating Flanagan, which ran 40.72 seconds—breaking the state record set at the Class 6 state championship.
