- ➤ On July 26, officers arrested New York man Jeanpaul Donoso for DUI outside America’s Best Wings in South Stafford after witnesses reported he was intoxicated and a white powder was found in his car—later, on July 27 and 28, law enforcement arrested individuals for public intoxication, property destruction, and a driver with a concealed weapon, handled inmate assaults at Rappahannock Regional Jail, and investigated separate cases of fraud, hit-and-run, larceny, and a warrant served at Motel 6. - ➤ Spotsylvania County Public Schools approved a new progressive discipline policy on Monday that will gradually escalate actions for employee missteps before termination and set clear steps for handling complaints. The board also passed guidelines to manage third-party complaints and created a non-voting student representative role (eligible students must be in 11th or 12th grade with a 2.5 GPA or higher). - ➤ Representative McClellan challenged Gov. Youngkin’s claim that all 2,500 detained immigrants are violent criminals after visiting the Chesterfield courthouse where staff and attorneys reported that individuals taken for minor offenses have not been convicted—she demanded proof that these detentions are justified.
