- ➤ The Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce announced the Leadership Fredericksburg Class of 2026 and selected 33 local professionals who will meet monthly from September through May — working on community projects and receiving mentorship — to build practical skills in areas like public safety and education. Notable Fellows include Betsy Mason from the police and Brenda Martin from City Hall, and the group will graduate in May. Potomac Local News
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Stafford County deputies are searching for Andre Bennett Jr.—a Black man with long dreadlocks last seen wearing a gray shirt, black shorts and red shoes—after he fled a traffic stop and crashed near the Giant grocery store on Town and Country Drive Thursday afternoon, and his vehicle has been recovered as officials believe he is hiding in a wooded area. - ➤ On July 20, two Spotsylvania County residents were charged with misdemeanors after a man and an accomplice hurled racial slurs at Amylah Majors and Jamaria Gaskins on Partlow Road—a confrontation that led to a car crash which totaled their vehicle and injured the victims—and police are investigating further hate crime charges.
