Stafford County’s Planning Commission will present a proposal on Tuesday, Aug.

19 to increase the setback from 100 to 500 feet and widen the vegetative buffer from 50 to 200 feet between data centers and nearby homes, schools, and other sensitive areas—changes prompted by a review of 16 data center proposals and community input. The Board of Supervisors will then decide whether to hold a joint work session, adopt, modify, or reject the recommendations.
