- ➤ Stafford County investigators have identified 21-year-old Gabriela Alejandra Bonilla Flores as the suspect in the fatal hit-and-run on Richmond Highway just before 2:00 a.m. Tuesday — she was driving a white Audi Q5 that was seized as evidence — and authorities urge anyone who sees her to call 911 immediately. - ➤ Spotsylvania authorities are investigating two shootings that occurred Thursday in the county—official details have not been released. The Free Lance–Star
- ➤ A man was shot on Bancroft Road in Spotsylvania late Thursday night and is recovering at a local hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening—authorities say the shooter remains at large. Potomac Local News

- ➤ Stafford County Public Schools has launched a new Business and IT Center at Colonial Forge High School to help students learn business, IT, cybersecurity, data, and entrepreneurship. - ➤ Spotsylvania Superintendent Clint Mitchell spoke to a packed faculty at Massaponax High School on Thursday morning as he announced an $11.7 million funding boost, lower turnover, and a new strategic plan (Future Ready 2030) for the upcoming school year. - ➤ VDOT has announced that from Aug. 10th through Aug. 16th, major lane closures and work zones will affect roads in Fredericksburg, Stafford and Spotsylvania for pavement, utility, and intersection improvements — drivers should allow extra travel time and follow police directions — as crews work overnight and during the day.
