CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Fredericksburg-area Judge Richard T. McGrath, 67, faced bribery charges after he allegedly threatened to drop revenue from traffic tickets if his staff did not get pay raises, and his trial is set for April 21 at Spotsylvania County Circuit Court. A motions hearing is scheduled for Dec. 3—Special Prosecutor Nate Green anticipates a two-day jury trial with an extra day reserved on the docket. Fredericksburg Free Press

- ➤ On Monday night, the Spotsylvania County School Board honored two CTE teachers, Christine Culberson of Battlefield Middle School and Edie Brooks of Post Oak Middle School, after they were named Teacher of the Year by state education groups. Board Chair Megan Jackson and Superintendent Clint Mitchell presented the awards which marked a key moment for the district's career and technical education programs. Fredericksburg Free Press
