  • Historic Fredericksburg Foundation hosted the Victory & Valor open house Saturday at the Dorothy Hart Community Center—displaying a blood drive, period music from the Enduring Freedom Honor Team, and honoring Navy veteran Richard Toye.  Fredericksburg Free Press
  • Rapp Arts held its annual PorchFest on Bunker Hill and Charles Streets on August 16—residents enjoyed music and casual conversation at the event.  Fredericksburg Free Press

SPORTS NEWS

  • Eric Bach, the 27-year-old play-by-play announcer for the FredNats, described his journey as a gay man in baseball today at Virginia Credit Union Stadium—he clips his broadcasts daily to showcase his skill and manage scoring disputes on the field. He hopes that his hard work in the booth will eventually take him to the big leagues.  Fredericksburg Free Press
