- ➤ Residential construction is picking up along the Princess Anne Street/Fall Hill Avenue corridor in Fredericksburg as DRB Homes has started building townhouses at Mary’s Landing and proposals are advancing to convert a Medical Arts Building into apartments and redevelop a former hospital into 242 apartments and commercial space—community members can attend a meeting today to discuss the hospital project. Additional business news include 105 recent home sales in the area and Atlantic Builders purchasing 747 acres in Stafford for future residential development. Fredericksburg Free Press

- ➤ Fredericksburg police arrested Felicia Lee Rivera, 25, on a strangulation charge causing bodily injury and charged others with assault and battery, controlled substance possession, public intoxication, and inhaling drugs across Fredericksburg, Stafford, and Spotsylvania—reports also show multiple larcenies from vehicles and car parts occurred along Preserve Lane, Ivanhoe Court, William Street, Brent Street, and Sunken Road. - ➤ Dominion Energy has proposed a utility rate hike that would add $10.51 per month to residential bills starting in 2027 and a separate fuel rate increase of $10.92 as costs rise—while it seeks a new rate class for data centers to better match energy usage with pricing.
