On Friday, October 3, Market Square will host Safe Harbor Child Advocacy Center’s Save Jane event where over 11,000 names of child abuse victims—listed as Jane Doe or John Doe with their age—will be read aloud to honor the children and call for stronger protection measures.

Transportation officials announced that alternating lane closures and overnight work will occur on I-95—from Courthouse Road to Centreport Parkway—and on several local routes affecting Fredericksburg, including intersection improvements and widening projects on Mudd Tavern Road.

The work, scheduled from tonight through early next week, will involve rumblestrip installation, pavement marking and bridge washing to improve road safety.
