  • Last week, Rep. Eugene Vindman helped load food for furloughed federal workers at a Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank pop-up event while Stafford’s Planning Commission planned a public hearing on a proposed Buc-ee’s store—local arts were celebrated as the Public Sculpture Project marked ten years and the school system unveiled its new brand. In addition, a 6,000-square-foot home sold for $2.825 million on Washington Avenue and officials scheduled sessions on a school board budget issue and a council vote to convert the former Mary Washington Hospital into 242 apartments.  Fredericksburg Free Press

SPORTS NEWS

  • Caroline High School earned its first 6—0 season with a 6—0 win over Eastern View Friday night while Colonial Forge, James Monroe, North Stafford, and Riverbend also won their district games. The schools will face new challenges next week as they continue district play.  Fredericksburg Free Press
  • On Friday October 10, 2025, the Courtland Cougars beat the Spotsylvania Knights 21 — 19, with players like Jean Lerro making key plays in a tight matchup.  Fredericksburg Free Press
