- ➤ At a check presentation in Bowling Green, REC’s Power of Change program awarded a $5,000 grant to Habitat for Humanity—supporting a project at Caroline High School where students will gain hands-on building experience. The funds come from REC members rounding up their monthly electric bills to benefit local nonprofits. Fredericksburg Free Press
- ➤ Micah Ecumenical Ministries was named a finalist for the 2025 Opus Prize—a faith-based award from Xavier University that honors social entrepreneurship and community outreach with downtown church groups serving the homeless. The prize will be handed out on Nov. 13 at Xavier University in New Orleans—where ministry representatives will travel to share their work. Fredericksburg Free Press
- ➤ Late Monday afternoon, volunteers at Rappahannock Education Farm in White Oak gathered hundreds of pounds of fresh vegetables, and by noon Tuesday the produce reached Market Square for local families. - ➤ FXBGO! announced realigned bus routes in Stafford County that will take effect on December 1—local riders should check the updated schedules. The Free Lance–Star
- ➤ Local and county officials are executing road work with bridge washing and alternating lane closures on I-95 and key routes in Fredericksburg, Caroline County, Spotsylvania, and Stafford County—some projects will extend into 2026 and 2027 while work zones affect daily traffic. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Since August, RAHD investigated three outbreaks of hand, foot and mouth disease in local child daycare centers and elementary schools—reflecting a statewide increase in cases noted by the Department of Health.
