- ➤ Local volunteers at Rappahannock Education Farm are growing fresh produce to help residents in need— their mission is to provide up to 100,000 pounds of fruits and vegetables for local distribution. The Free Lance–Star

- ➤ Micah Ecumenical Ministries held an All Saints Day service Thursday night at Fredericksburg United Methodist Church to honor 21 neighbors who passed away while experiencing homelessness—each was commemorated with a tent and candle symbolizing both their hardship and dignity. - ➤ Businesses and residents along Princess Anne Street in downtown Fredericksburg woke up on Thursday to a power outage that left 328 customers without electricity along a corridor spanning parts of Princess Anne and Caroline Streets — Dominion Energy crews were working to restore service between 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. that day. - ➤ The ARTfactory has announced it will host its 22nd Annual Off the Wall High School Art Exhibit — a competition where high school students show their creativity in art and technology, painting and drawing, poetry, wearable art, and photography. - ➤ Germanna Community College has appointed Tashika Griffith as its next president and she will begin her role on Jan. 1, 2026—she served as chief campus officer at St. Petersburg State College in Florida. Chancellor Dore said the selection came after a months-long search that included finalists David Ferreira and Thomas Walker, with interim president Dr. Van Wilson stepping aside. - ➤ Dr. Tashika Griffith was named the new president of Germanna Community College by Chancellor Dr. David Doré after a national search of 80 candidates. She will begin her role as the college’s seventh permanent president on January 1. Potomac Local News

- ➤ Fredericksburg city leaders are preparing to launch a one-year pilot program that will allow residents without driveways to charge their electric vehicles at the curb—marking the first initiative of its kind in Virginia. Potomac Local News
