- ➤ The City of Fredericksburg approved Greater Fredericksburg Habitat for Humanity's site plan for six new affordable homes on Davies Street yesterday. Habitat for Humanity will announce soon when construction will start and provide details on selecting homebuyers while qualifying residents may receive up to $10,000 in assistance. Potomac Local News

- ➤ Bill visited the Cannon Ridge Disc Golf Course in Spotsylvania County—located on a local man’s home property—and found it open to the public. Fredericksburg Free Press

- ➤ The ARTfactory announced a special exhibition titled 'Rhythm & Hues' featuring celebrated artist René Dickerson’s jazz-inspired art, which will open November 12 and run through December 14 — an opening reception is scheduled for November 15 from 6–8 p.m. Dickerson’s works blend fine art with jazz and Motown influences, offering a unique look at his acclaimed 'My Girl' series. - ➤ The Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce announced an energy forum scheduled for November 12 from 8:30 to 10 a.m. at Stevenson Ridge — 6901 Meeting St in Spotsylvania — where business leaders, policymakers, and energy experts will meet to discuss how to balance clean energy policies with reliable, affordable power. John Hewa, president of Rappahannock Electric Cooperative, will deliver a keynote address on ensuring Virginia’s energy future supports economic growth. Potomac Local News

- ➤ Harold Bannister's home on Fall Hill Avenue is the only one in Fredericksburg with yard signs for both Ward 2 candidates—Anne Little and Joy Crump—in a close city council race. The former council member said he supports both candidates to show that local voices can unite the community during a tough election cycle. Fredericksburg Free Press
- ➤ The Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division will conduct range testing today through Nov. 7 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., which may produce loud noise in nearby communities—access to the Potomac River Middle Danger Zone will be restricted during testing. Fredericksburg Free Press
- ➤ Yesterday, the City released the November Cityscape which detailed plans to upgrade and expand its wastewater treatment plant and updated polling location names for the November election. The bulletin also noted a downtown traffic engineering study is underway (covering Christmas Parade routes, fall leaf collection schedules, and Veterans Day procession highlights). - ➤ The George Washington Regional Commission has released its Comprehensive Economic Development Plan for public review and comment—residents can send feedback electronically, by email, or in person at a meeting on November 24 at 5 p.m. Public comments are open from October 31 to November 30 and will help shape regional economic growth. - ➤ Brett, a local mother of three, found a lump while nursing her youngest and was diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer; her care team began treatment quickly, and after 12 weeks of chemotherapy and a lumpectomy, she became cancer-free (she now advocates for early detection and support).
