- ➤ Volunteers from VFW Post 3103 placed hundreds of small American flags at the graves of local veterans at Oak Hill Cemetery Saturday morning. Fredericksburg Free Press
- ➤ Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank offers weekly Drive-Thru and Walk-Up food distributions — guests must leave space between cars and answer a few quick questions with no ID required. Fredericksburg Free Press
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Always Flavored in Fredericksburg will host a Pastry Stout Party on Friday, November 14 at 3 p.m.—this event features the debut of Paul’s Bakery Pastry Stout made with chocolate custard donuts and a new menu item called the Paul’s Donut Melt. Teams from 6 Bears & A Goat and Paul’s Bakery will join guests to celebrate the brew. Potomac Local News
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Public schools in Stafford, Prince William, Fredericksburg, Manassas and Manassas Park will close tomorrow for Veterans Day, with regular classes resuming November 12—families are advised to check local school websites for office hour updates. Potomac Local News
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Kiewit Corp., a Nebraska-based contractor, has been awarded a $240.5 million contract to rebuild the damaged section of the Virginia Creeper Trail following Hurricane Helene. The company is expected to start work this week near Damascus — the project will repair over 30 bridges and miles of trail within one year. Fredericksburg Free Press
