- ➤ UMW student leaders & volunteers delivered 300 gift boxes filled with toys, art supplies and essentials to preschoolers at the Walker-Grant Center as part of their annual holiday drive, sparking smiles among local children and supporting early education programs in Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania. - ➤ Miss Volunteer Virginia, Kennedy Fewell, visited a local Salvation Army site to urge residents to ring bells this holiday season. Her remarks highlighted that each shift helps support programs serving local families + she encouraged simple, effective volunteering. Fredericksburg Free Press

EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Idea Space, the library maker lab on Princess Anne St., celebrates five years of creative learning today at 4 p.m. with a brief recognition ceremony. It has issued over 2,000 access badges to residents and offers free access to tech tools plus a forum for podcasts and music recordings. Potomac Local News
