- ➤ The City announced that Motts Run Reservoir will host its First Day Hike on Thursday, Jan. 1 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Participants can join one of three guided hikes or create their own hike + enjoy activities and treats at the Nature Center. Potomac Local News

- ➤ A Los Angeles investor purchased land in Spotsylvania to build a data center that reflects the county's growing high-tech industry. The project is expected to boost local business prospects and add to the area's ongoing development. The Free Lance–Star
- ➤ Bill Freehling sits down with Rennie McDaniel and Kelly Johnson this week to discuss their central role in the Monumental Vision campaign for renovating the Mary Washington Monument. - ➤ VDOT will suspend many highway work zones and lift temporary lane closures from noon today to noon Friday, easing traffic on interstates and major roads. Ongoing local projects may still create minor delays on various routes in the Fredericksburg area. Fredericksburg Free Press
- ➤ Kevin Dillard, REMS board president for 37 years, was sworn in on Monday, Dec. 22 to the Virginia State Board of Health. He will use his extensive EMS experience to help shape health policies statewide. Fredericksburg Free Press
