- ➤ Middle schoolers across the region are invited to the new Fredericksburg Regional Civics Bee hosted by the Chamber of Commerce (in partnership with WorkForce NOW and Oberle Academy). They must submit essays by Feb. 3 and compete on Apr. 15 for cash prizes and a chance at the Virginia State Finals. Potomac Local News
- ➤ Franco Abud, the state vice president for Virginia FFA, is spending a gap year to lead agricultural education statewide. A recent Courtland graduate headed to Cornell, he will work to expand leadership opportunities in farming communities. Fredericksburg Free Press
